Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide crisis response nursing care in ICU stepdown setting with 3:1 or 4:1 patient ratios
• Manage patients with arterial lines and titrate vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Neo
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and manage dysrhythmias appropriately
• Care for post rapid response team patients with respiratory distress and unstable hemodynamics
• Provide care for patients with withdrawal, GI bleeds, and post-operative complications from various surgical procedures
• Manage specialized equipment including A-lines, BIPAP machines, chest tubes, and tracheostomies
• Administer blood products and manage IV insulin protocols and heparin protocols
• Provide central line care and management, peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Perform conscious sedation monitoring and IV starts as needed
• Float to sister ICCU unit as required based on census and staffing needs
• Utilize Epic charting system and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete hospital orientation during first week and attend required daily classes
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date as specialty requirement
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable acute care modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Comply with facility dress code requiring navy, white, or combination scrubs
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
