Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Fullerton, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in Labor and Delivery unit for antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum patients • Perform sterile vaginal exams independently without supervision • Conduct triage of obstetrical patients • Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using external and internal fetal monitoring • Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips • Assist with vaginal deliveries and high-risk deliveries • Circulate and scrub for cesarean sections • Provide immediate newborn care including APGAR scoring and newborn assessment • Support breastfeeding and provide lactation assistance • Manage patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension, preeclampsia, and postpartum hemorrhage • Float to Mother Baby unit as needed • Maintain required certifications including ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, and NRP • Complete pre-start and annual training modules • Work weekends as required, potentially exceeding every other weekend • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Utilize Meditech charting system for documentation • Provide care for multiple births and high-risk antepartum patients • Manage intrauterine pressure catheters and spiral electrode placement • Administer blood and blood products as needed • Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 • Provide supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within last 3 years
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
