Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Sterile Processing Tech - Sterile Processing Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform GI flexible endoscope cleaning and reprocessing • Utilize chemical agents for decontamination and disinfectants for high-level disinfection • Conduct manual cleaning and proper labeling of endoscopic equipment • Apply aseptic technique in sterile processing procedures • Process various endoscopes including colonoscopes, EGD scopes, endoscopic ultrasound scopes, ERCP scopes, and flex sigmoidoscopes • Maintain equipment documentation and endoscopy records • Monitor biological indicators and chemical indicators for sterilization validation • Operate Steris testing and monitoring equipment • Process manometry catheters and related equipment • Work with Medivators Advantage HLD machines • Maintain current BLS certification • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Float between facilities within the state as required • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Complete required compliance documentation and certifications • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Adhere to facility policies and procedures for sterile processing operations
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
