Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Salem, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for PCU/IMC/Med-Surg patients with ratios of 1:4-6 patients • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry patients • Manage cardiac drips including nitro, Cardizem, and amiodarone • Administer blood products and monitor chemotherapy patients • Perform pre/post cardiac catheterization care and post-MI patient management • Manage patients with chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac • Titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and insulin drips as needed • Provide care for neurological patients including CVA, craniotomy, and traumatic brain injury • Manage non-invasive airway support including CPAP/BIPAP and high flow nasal cannula • Perform peripheral line care, PICC line management, and IV insertion/maintenance • Monitor patients on continuous bladder irrigation and feeding tube management • Implement isolation precautions and utilize rapid response/code teams • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Float between units including MS/Tele/Stepdown/IMC and to affiliate hospitals as needed • Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Follow oxygen protocols and heparin protocols • Manage post-hemodialysis patients and those with renal failure • Provide care for substance withdrawal and seizure disorder patients • Work every other weekend and comply with scheduling requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
