Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - OR to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in Salem, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in the operating room as an OR RN on day shift
• Maintain current BLS certification and ACLS certification (preferred)
• Complete 30 hours of orientation upon assignment
• Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation
• Work variable 10-hour shifts with start times at 07:00, 09:00, or 11:00
• Participate in weekday night call shifts (8 hours, 2300-0700)
• Work weekend scheduled and call shifts (10-12 hours)
• Complete up to 6 shifts of call and/or weekend scheduled shifts per 6-week schedule
• Float to affiliate hospitals including West Valley Hospital as needed
• Provide care for patients across all age groups: adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Assist with various surgical procedures including orthopedic, neurological, cardiovascular, robotic, general, urological, gynecological, dental, ENT, plastic, and trauma surgeries
• Operate and maintain surgical equipment including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Follow AORN patient ratio standards
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (non-billable, up to 8 hours)
• Adhere to Universal Protocol and Time Out procedures
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols including fire safety, laser safety, and radiation safety
• Respond to code situations as required
• Handle specimen collection and labeling according to protocols
• Maintain valid Oregon CNA license and work toward Oregon RN license if pending
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
