Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Stepdown to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Salem, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide registered nursing care in PCU/IMC/Stepdown units with patient ratios of 1:4-6 • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry • Manage dysrhythmias and cardiac emergencies • Administer and manage cardiac drips including nitro, Cardizem, and amiodarone • Titrate cardiac drips and vasoactive drips as ordered • Perform blood product administration and monitor patients during transfusions • Manage chest tubes using Emerson/PleurEvac systems • Provide pre and post cardiac catheterization care • Care for patients with craniotomy, CVA, and traumatic brain injuries • Manage patients with intracranial bleeds and seizure disorders • Provide tracheostomy care and management • Administer oxygen therapy including high flow nasal cannula and external CPAP/BIPAP • Perform non-invasive airway management • Start and maintain peripheral IVs and provide PICC line management • Follow heparin protocols and IV insulin protocols • Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) • Manage feeding tubes and provide wound care including wound vac • Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE usage • Activate rapid response teams and participate in code teams • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Float between units including MS/Tele/Stepdown/IMC and to affiliate hospitals as needed • Work every other weekend as required • Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide care for post-surgical patients including total joint replacements • Manage patients with renal failure and provide pre/post hemodialysis management • Care for patients experiencing substance withdrawal • Monitor chemotherapy patients and provide oncology telemetry care
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
