Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Torrance, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for labor and delivery patients including low and high risk cases • Care for antepartum patients with multiples, hypertensive disorders, diabetic conditions, and multiple system issues • Maintain ACLS, AWHONN Advanced (or C-EFM), BLS, and NRP certifications • Circulate and recover cesarean sections • Perform postpartum D&C procedures • Float to Mother/Baby units as required • Float between affiliate hospitals as needed • Provide newborn care services • Conduct non-stress tests • Set up delivery tables • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Follow AWHONN standards for patient ratios (1:1 for active labor, no more than 2:1 for early labor) • Work with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams • Complete required modules pre-start and annually • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Maintain current California nursing license • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Complete background check and compliance documentation • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Provide precepting services when requested
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
