Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Lab Specialist - Clinical Lab Scientist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as Infection Prevention Specialist with CIC certification • Provide infection prevention services across multiple acute care service lines including surgery, NICU, Cardiac, Critical Care, and ER • Serve in advisory capacity on infection prevention guidelines • Conduct rounds and communicate infection prevention protocols to staff • Perform surveillance documentation and monitoring • Work with diverse patient populations including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and record-keeping • Complete 24 hours of orientation training • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Maintain valid state licensure (WA or Compact RN license) • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Complete compliance documentation by Monday prior to start date • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Adhere to facility policies and infection prevention protocols
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in WA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
