Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for patients across the inpatient spectrum including medical surgical, cardiac, progressive care/step down, and stroke patients
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3-6 depending on patient populations and unit needs
• Work night shifts on a 3x12-hour schedule totaling 36 hours per week
• Float to multiple units including medical/surgical floors, PCUs, cardiac floors, rehab, BHH, PACU, and inpatient holding space for ED
• Utilize Epic documentation system and PYXIS medication management system
• Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable training modules pre-start and annually
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
• Administer blood products and manage central line care
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips including titration
• Provide telemetry monitoring and non-invasive airway management
• Follow isolation precautions and utilize rapid response/code teams when needed
• Maintain peripheral line care and management
• Complete lab work and compliance testing within 48 hours of assignment
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Wear required navy scrubs and maintain professional appearance standards
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
