Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for patients with cardiac conditions • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias • Manage patients with various cardiac diagnoses including CHF, ACS, CAD, and post-cardiac procedures • Perform sheath removal and manage femoral sheaths following cardiac catheterization procedures • Administer and manage cardiac drips without titration as well as titrate cardiac drips as ordered • Provide pre and post cardiac catheterization care • Manage chest tubes using Emerson/Pleuravac systems • Operate and monitor external CPAP/BIPAP and non-invasive airway management • Perform EKG testing and interpretation • Manage epicardial pacing wires and assist with pacemaker placement procedures • Provide care for patients undergoing cardiac surgeries including CABG, valve replacements, and vascular procedures • Utilize Epic documentation system for patient charting • Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications • Float between units within the hospital and affiliate facilities based on census and acuity needs • Work assigned weekend shifts (4 per 4 weeks) and major holidays (2 out of 3) • Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 for surgical step down and 1:5-6 for lower acuity patients • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Participate in Storm Team and Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory, pharmacy, and rapid response teams • Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and fatigue management guidelines
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
