Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for cardiac patients in progressive care unit (PCU) setting
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
• Manage patients with cardiac telemetry and stepdown care requirements
• Perform sheath removal and manage femoral sheaths
• Administer and manage cardiac drips without titration
• Titrate cardiac drips as prescribed
• Provide pre and post cardiac catheterization care
• Care for post-myocardial infarction patients
• Manage chest tubes using Emerson/Pleuravac systems
• Provide non-invasive airway management including external CPAP/BIPAP and nasal cannula
• Care for patients with various cardiac diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, and CAD
• Assist with post-operative care for cardiac and vascular surgical patients
• Monitor patients following procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, and pacemaker placements
• Utilize specialized equipment including arterial lines, Doppler, bladder scanner, and EKG machines
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Float between units based on census and skill set requirements
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Maintain patient ratios varying by acuity level (1:3 to 1:5)
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Work weekend shifts as required (4 per 4 weeks)
• Report to work during catastrophic events or disasters as part of Storm/Hurricane Team
• Complete 24-hour unit orientation program
• Adhere to facility policies including dress code requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
