Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for medical/surgical and telemetry patients with target ratios of 1:6-1:7 • Float between medical/surgical floors and affiliate hospitals as part of Centralized Resource Nursing Pool (CNRO) • Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias • Provide peripheral line care and management • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Implement isolation precautions as needed • Manage nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management • Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams • Work 12-hour day shifts (06:45 - 19:15) for 36 hours per week • Work every other weekend as required • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation • Pass EKG testing prior to start • Maintain current BLS certification • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments • Report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters • Care for adult and geriatric patients • Assist in caring for patients held in Emergency Department who are inpatient • Adhere to facility fatigue policy (no more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours per week) • Comply with facility dress code requiring navy and/or white scrubs • Demonstrate teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations in all patient and staff interactions • Maintain strict adherence to call-off policy
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
