Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in Mason City, IA. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform surgical technician duties during scheduled shifts from 07:00 AM to 05:00 PM
• Provide on-call coverage every 3rd weekend from Saturday 1900 to Sunday 0700
• Complete required personal health documentation including COVID-19 vaccination, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, and other immunizations
• Undergo and maintain current fit testing and tuberculosis screening
• Complete comprehensive drug screening and physical health assessments
• Maintain valid professional licenses and certificates with proper verification
• Complete criminal background checks and security clearances
• Participate in required competency testing and skills assessments
• Complete specialty-specific competency testing for surgical technology
• Undergo education verification and maintain professional development requirements
• Complete Joint Commission testing and compliance requirements
• Participate in integrity and audit services documentation
• Complete required training modules including Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training
• Maintain system access credentials and complete security agreements
• Adhere to Code of Conduct and conflict of interest disclosure requirements
• Complete color vision testing as required for surgical procedures
• Maintain current Tdap vaccination and other required immunizations
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
