Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Mason City, IA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in medical surgical telemetry unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to telemetry alarms appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Assess patient conditions and document findings accurately
• Work every third weekend and every other holiday
• Complete required health screenings including PPD/IGRA testing
• Maintain current nursing license and required certifications
• Complete mandatory training modules and competency testing
• Undergo background checks and drug screening
• Maintain current immunizations including COVID-19, influenza, MMR, Hepatitis B, Tdap, and Varicella
• Complete skills checklist and specialty-specific competency requirements
• Adhere to facility policies regarding patient confidentiality and system security
• Complete Joint Commission testing and compliance requirements
• Work night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Provide patient and family education as appropriate
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
