Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for medical/surgical patients including adults and geriatrics
• Maintain patient ratios of 6:1 to 7:1 during day, night, and weekend shifts
• Administer and monitor insulin drips and heparin drips
• Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Manage peripheral line care and maintenance
• Provide non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula care
• Implement isolation precautions and IV insulin protocols
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Utilize Pyxis medication system and SBAR communication methods
• Float to similar units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work night shifts (36 hours) with every other weekend coverage required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation
• Pass EKG competency testing
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Maintain valid NC or Compact state nursing license
• Adhere to fatigue policy (no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week)
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments during catastrophic events
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Complete all required compliance testing within 48 hours of contract signing
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
