Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Wilmington, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in medical surgical telemetry units • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6-7 during shifts • Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring for assigned patients • Float between multiple medical, surgical, and telemetry units as needed • Provide care for patients held in emergency department awaiting inpatient placement • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Maintain current BCLS certification and complete annual renewals • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias in telemetry patients • Implement isolation precautions as required for patient safety • Manage peripheral line care and non-invasive airway interventions • Utilize rapid response and code teams when clinically indicated • Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15 • Work every other weekend as scheduling requirement • Participate in self-scheduling according to unit needs • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation upon assignment start • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Adhere to facility dress code requiring navy and/or white scrubs • Maintain collaborative relationships with interdisciplinary team members • Participate in storm team or hurricane team assignments when required • Report to work during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations • Comply with fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Provide care for adult and geriatric patient populations • Maintain valid nursing license and provide supervisory references from past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
