Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for high-risk antepartum patients from 4 weeks to term • Monitor and interpret external fetal monitoring (EFM) strips • Provide couplet care for mother-baby patients with ratios of 1:4-5 • Care for postpartum patients requiring telemetry monitoring or 2 grams of Magnesium • Manage patients with PICC lines, central venous catheters, and insulin drips • Administer anticonvulsant and antihypertensive medications • Perform magnesium sulfate therapy • Interpret telemetry readings • Assist with high-risk deliveries • Monitor and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns • Operate infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring equipment • Care for GYN and GYN/ONC surgery patients • Manage readmissions for surgical complications • Assist with deliveries of patients less than 20 weeks gestation • Document patient care using Epic Dimensions and CPN systems • Utilize Pyxis medication dispensing system • Float to Labor & Delivery, Pediatrics, and Mother Baby units as needed • Work every other weekend • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable educational modules pre-start and annually • Maintain current BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications • Provide two manager/supervisor references from the past 12 months • Work no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays • Complete hospital and unit orientation during first week • Comply with navy, white, or combination scrub requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
