Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for medical surgical telemetry patients in adult and geriatric populations • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias using telemetry equipment • Manage and treat dysrhythmias according to established protocols • Maintain patient ratios of 1:6 during 12-hour night shifts • Utilize Epic electronic health record system for patient documentation • Perform blood product administration and monitor patient responses • Provide central line care and management following sterile technique • Manage peripheral line care and maintenance • Implement isolation precautions as required for patient safety • Administer oxygen therapy via nasal cannula and provide non-invasive airway management • Participate in rapid response team activations when needed • Float to other units within the hospital or affiliate facilities as required • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation and hospital orientation requirements • Maintain current BLS and NIHSS certifications • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable training modules pre-start and annually • Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services • Participate in self-scheduling system as confirmed by unit management • Maintain professional appearance in required navy blue scrubs • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start date
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
