Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in the Neuro ICU setting with 2:1 patient ratios (may flex to 3:1 during high census) • Manage patients with neurological conditions including strokes, craniotomies, aneurysm repairs, and traumatic brain injuries • Operate and monitor specialized neurological equipment including EVDs, Lumbar Drains, Camino ICP monitors, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun systems • Administer blood products and manage continuous IV sedation protocols • Provide care for ventilated patients and manage ventilator settings • Perform central line care and management including arterial line monitoring • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias in neurological patients • Manage external ventricular drains (EVD) and intracranial pressure monitoring • Provide post-neurosurgery patient care and monitoring • Implement CVA/acute stroke management protocols and interventions • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Float between units within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols • Pass EKG testing requirements prior to assignment start • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable training modules pre-start and annually • Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days and 60 hours per week • Maintain valid NC or Compact state nursing license • Provide two supervisory references covering previous 12 months of employment • Complete compliance testing within 48 hours of contract signing • Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
