Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in a 24-35 bed Med Surg/Telemetry unit with 1:6-7 patient ratios
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and treat dysrhythmias appropriately
• Administer blood products and manage central line care
• Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS certification
• Work weekend schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) plus one weekday shift
• Work 12-hour night shifts as assigned
• Float to sister units and affiliate hospitals as needed based on census
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Provide peripheral line care and management
• Implement isolation precautions when required
• Manage non-invasive airway interventions and nasal cannula oxygen delivery
• Participate in rapid response team activations
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (8-10 hours)
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Attend 36-hour unit orientation and hospital orientation classes
• Maintain professional appearance according to dress code (navy blue scrubs)
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from past 12 months
• Maintain valid RN license (NC or Compact state)
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
