Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate SLP - SLP to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Rehab in Anchorage, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide speech language pathology services in inpatient rehabilitation setting for adults and geriatrics • Treat patients with stroke, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, and amputations • Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and dysphagia assessments • Perform fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallow (FEES) and interpret results • Conduct and interpret modified barium swallow studies • Manage patients with tracheostomies and ventilator-dependent conditions • Provide care for patients with Passy Muir valves • Assess and treat communication disorders including dysarthria, aphasia, and voice disorders • Utilize augmentative and alternative communication devices • Perform comprehensive speech and language evaluations using standardized assessment tools • Develop and implement treatment plans and functional maintenance programs • Document patient care and progress using Epic charting system • Provide patient and family education on communication strategies and swallowing safety • Collaborate with interdisciplinary rehabilitation team • Work approximately 2 weekend days per month • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed • Maintain current BLS certification and Alaska SLP license • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty setting • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
