Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Cath Lab to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in Anchorage, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab for adult and geriatric patients
• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations including left and right heart catheterizations
• Assist with percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) and cardiac stent placements
• Monitor and manage patients during procedural sedation
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including Impella, IABP, balloon pumps, laser, rotablater, and shockwave devices
• Perform sheath removal and monitoring with topical hemostasis techniques
• Administer and monitor medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and thrombolytics
• Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and manage pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Circulate procedures and assist with laser-assisted procedures
• Float to Electrophysiology (EP) or Interventional Radiology (IR) labs as needed
• Participate in on-call coverage including 1 day per week and every 4th/5th weekend
• Work approximately 1 Saturday per month as part of scheduled shifts
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty
• Maintain valid state RN licensure and required certifications
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
