Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Outpatient to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in outpatient surgery setting including preop area, PACU phase I and phase II • Care for patients undergoing general, orthopedic, urology, ENT, gynecology, ophthalmology, plastics, podiatry, and vascular outpatient procedures • Perform pre-operative assessments and education • Administer pre-operative medications and review history and physical • Monitor patients receiving procedural sedation and conscious sedation • Manage patients under general, local, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), and nerve blocks • Provide post-operative care and pain assessment using RASS scale • Manage post-epidural patients and administer reversal agents when needed • Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG as required • Perform medication reconciliation and provide discharge instructions • Conduct follow-up phone calls to patients • Interpret and communicate lab values to patients and team members • Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE usage • Follow malignant hyperthermia protocol when indicated • Manage hyperglycemia/hypoglycemia and insulin protocols • Administer narcotics/opioid analgesics safely • Care for patients across all age groups including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Float to main PACU when needed • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required • Work Monday through Friday schedule with occasional variable shifts • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Maintain valid California state nursing license • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
