Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - OR to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in the OR setting for preop area, PACU phase I and phase II • Work primarily 8:30am - 5:00pm shifts Monday through Friday with occasional 7:00am - 3:30pm shifts • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and patient records • Provide care for all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics • Handle all outpatient surgeries including general, orthopedic, and urology procedures • Perform pre-operative assessments, education, and medication administration • Conduct post-operative care and recovery monitoring • Manage pain assessment and administer appropriate interventions • Monitor patients under various anesthesia types including general, local, MAC, and nerve blocks • Administer and monitor procedural sedation and reversal agents • Perform pre/post operative procedures and discharge planning • Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG as needed • Provide discharge instructions and follow-up phone calls • Complete medication reconciliation for patients • Maintain isolation precautions and proper PPE usage • Implement malignant hyperthermia protocols when necessary • Use RASS (Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale) for patient assessment • Float to Main PACU when needed • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty • Maintain valid California state licensure • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
