Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform surgical technician duties in various specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, general surgery, GU, and GYN procedures • Provide surgical support for trauma cases as a required core competency • Scrub for complex procedures including craniotomies, spinal fusions, robotic surgeries, organ transplants, and emergency trauma cases • Operate and maintain specialized equipment including microscopes, laparoscopic towers, arthroscopic equipment, Stealth Navigation Station, and da Vinci Xi robotic system • Maintain current CST and NBSTSA certifications along with BLS certification • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and patient records • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required by unit needs • Work variable shift times including 7am, 9am, 11am, and 3pm start times • Provide call coverage per unit requirements and work weekends as needed • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules and compliance documentation • Maintain valid California state licensure • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Demonstrate proficiency in case cart preparation, crash cart management, and sterile scrub techniques • Follow aseptic technique, isolation precautions, laser safety, radiation safety, and universal protocol procedures • Perform duties using facility-provided communication devices when required • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Adhere to facility policies regarding float assignments to avoid assignment termination
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
