Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Psych to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Oregon City, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide psychiatric nursing care to pediatric and adolescent patients aged 6-17 years in acute crisis unit • Maintain patient ratios of 4-5 patients per RN during days and 2 RNs for 20 beds during nights • Administer medications and monitor blood glucose levels as required • Implement physical hold protocols and seclusion procedures when necessary • Provide care for patients with anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use issues • Monitor and assess patients with suicidal ideation or following suicide attempts • Utilize Epic charting system for all patient documentation • Work with interdisciplinary team including phlebotomy, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries • Operate special equipment including Hover Jack and Humane Wrap for patient transport • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work every other weekend and commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays • Complete 16 hours of orientation and ongoing annual training modules • Maintain current BLS certification and complete PMAB training • Provide psychoeducation to patients and families • Manage patients with trauma and stressor-related disorders • Ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures for psychiatric patient care
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
