Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Anchorage, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in surgical procedures including orthopedic (total joints), neuro surgery (craniotomy, spinal surgery), and robotic procedures
• Provide surgical support for oncology procedures and Level 1 trauma cases
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout all surgical procedures
• Assist with bariatric, pediatric, gynecologic, general, and laparoscopic surgeries
• Support DaVinci Robot-assisted procedures
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
• Document patient care activities using Epic charting system
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BLS certification and preferred NCCT or NBSTSA certification
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting
• Maintain valid state licensure
• Complete 40 hours of orientation
• Provide care for all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Assist with trauma cases including orthopedic fractures, neuro trauma, and various emergency procedures
• Support specialized procedures including robotic gynecologic, urologic, neurologic, and orthopedic surgeries
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
