Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate SLP - SLP to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Anchorage, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide speech-language pathology services in acute care hospital setting treating patients from ICU level to SNF/OP level • Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and dysphagia assessments • Perform and interpret FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) procedures • Interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies and complete MBS-IMP certification • Assess and treat patients with CVA, TBI, degenerative diseases, and communication disorders • Evaluate and treat aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, and fluency disorders • Provide assessment and treatment for patients with tracheostomy and ventilator dependence • Document patient care and treatment plans using Epic charting system • Develop and implement functional maintenance programs and compensatory strategies • Provide patient and family education regarding communication and swallowing disorders • Conduct non-evaluative screening tools and comprehensive SLP evaluations • Work with patients requiring alternative and augmentative communication devices • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for comprehensive patient care • Maintain current BLS certification and valid state licensure • Work weekends as required and be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Float between hospital units as needed based on clinical readiness • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
