Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant - Medical Assistant to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care as a Medical Assistant/CNA to adult and geriatric patients
• Maintain current BLS certification and state licensure
• Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respirations
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, ambulation, and repositioning
• Perform glucose point of care testing and collect specimens for laboratory analysis
• Maintain patient safety through proper use of bed alarms, fall prevention measures, and isolation precautions
• Utilize Epic charting system for accurate documentation of patient care
• Assist with wound care management and monitor drain output
• Operate medical equipment including Hoyer lifts, sequential compression devices, and oxygen delivery systems
• Float between units and affiliate hospitals as departmental needs require
• Work every other weekend and maintain flexible scheduling to meet unit needs
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within comparable specialty/setting
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:7 during day shifts and 1:11 during night shifts
• Adhere to infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff and participate in interdisciplinary care
• Maintain professional appearance according to facility dress code requirements
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
