Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide radiation therapy treatments to adult and geriatric patients with all cancer diagnoses
• Operate linear accelerators and perform treatments on 2 linear accelerators with daily census of 50 scheduled patients
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Perform SBRT, Exac trac dynamic, and ABC procedures
• Conduct CBCT/kV/mV imaging and CT simulation
• Perform electron beam therapy and external beam therapy
• Execute IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy) treatments
• Operate Elekta Infinity and Elekta Versa HD equipment
• Perform chart checks and tumor localization
• Manage patients with prostate cancer requiring seeds/fiducials
• Provide care for patients in restraints when necessary
• Utilize respiratory gating techniques
• Create and implement custom molds and custom shields
• Perform field shaping and electron field treatments
• Operate specialized equipment including Maxi move, hoyer lift, sara stedy, and hover mat
• Maintain radiation safety protocols and procedures
• Provide patient and family teaching
• Handle emergency cases and utilize crash cart when needed
• Participate in rapid response and code teams
• Implement isolation precautions when required
• Operate HexaPOD positioning system
• Perform billing for treatment types and devices
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Maintain current ARRT R, BLS, and state licensure certifications
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete 40 hours of facility orientation
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for the assignment
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
