Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform radiation therapy treatments on adult and geriatric patients with various cancer diagnoses
• Operate and maintain linear accelerators and radiation therapy equipment
• Conduct CBCT/kV/mV imaging for patient positioning and treatment verification
• Perform chart checks and billing documentation for treatment types and devices
• Utilize IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy) and External Beam Therapy techniques
• Execute specialized procedures including SBRT, Exac trac dynamic, and ABC protocols
• Provide care for patients with prostate cancer including seeds/fiducials treatments
• Operate specialized equipment including Elekta Infinity and Elekta Versa HD systems
• Perform CT simulation procedures and tumor localization
• Create and utilize custom molds, shields, and field shaping techniques
• Monitor patients during electron beam therapy and electron field treatments
• Implement respiratory gating techniques when required
• Provide patient and family education regarding radiation therapy procedures
• Maintain radiation safety protocols and compliance standards
• Document patient care and treatments using Epic charting system
• Respond to emergency cases and utilize crash cart/defibrillator when necessary
• Transfer patients using lift/transfer devices including hoyer lifts and sara stedy equipment
• Maintain current ARRT R certification and state licensure
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as assigned
• Maintain current BLS certification
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
