Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Portland, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for neonates and infants in NICU Level 3 or 4 setting
• Function as Charge RN with oversight of unit operations and staffing assignments
• Attend high risk deliveries and perform neonatal resuscitation
• Manage patient ratios of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Float between units including maternity and MBU as needed
• Float to sister facilities and affiliate hospitals based on skill set and facility needs
• Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications
• Work variable and rotating weekend schedules including every 3rd weekend
• Work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Perform standby on-call duties when not needed on unit
• Lead multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate patient care
• Provide specialized NICU care including ventilator management, arterial line management, and central line care
• Administer medications including antibiotics, antivirals, IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants
• Manage feeding protocols including bottle, breast, and gavage feedings
• Provide developmental care and patient/family teaching
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty
• Use facility-provided communication devices for work-related duties
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Maintain valid state licensure and comply with background check requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
