Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Oregon City, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for labor and delivery patients with 1:1 ratios during active labor and 1:3 ratios for postpartum couples
• Float between multiple units and affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and skill sets
• Work on-call shifts (1 low census shift per pay period) and weekend coverage (every other or every third)
• Maintain current BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced certifications
• Utilize Epic charting system for all patient documentation
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk deliveries
• Provide neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessment for babies >35 weeks gestation
• Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, and epidural anesthesia management
• Perform antepartum and postpartum patient assessments and monitoring
• Operate fetal monitoring equipment including external and internal fetal monitoring systems
• Provide patient and family education including breastfeeding support, discharge teaching, and circumcision care
• Assist with emergency situations including postpartum hemorrhage and neonatal emergencies
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (average 16 hours, non-billable)
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within comparable specialty setting
• Maintain valid state nursing licensure and complete compliance documentation
• Use facility-provided communication devices for work-related duties when required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
