Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate SLP - SLP to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Walla Walla, WA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide speech-language pathology services as an independent, quick learning SLP with acute care and IPR experience
• Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and assessments for adult and geriatric patients
• Perform fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallow (FEES) and interpret results
• Conduct and interpret modified barium swallow studies (MBS)
• Evaluate and treat patients with dysphagia, CVA, TBI, and nervous system disorders
• Modify diet orders and provide education on thickening agents and International Dysphagia Diet
• Work with trach/vent and ventilator dependent patients
• Treat 6-8 patients per day with diagnoses including stroke, head injury, and encephalopathy
• Provide patient and family education on communication strategies and swallowing safety
• Document patient care using Epic charting system with point of service documentation
• Float between different units and floors within the facility
• Work weekend rotations as part of 2-3 SLP rotation schedule
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, radiology, and social services
• Complete required modules pre-start and annually (approximately 16 hours, non-billable)
• Maintain current BLS certification and CCC-SLP credentials
• Maintain valid state licensure and required certifications
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty
• Complete compliance documentation by Monday prior to start date
• Self-report time spent on training modules and maintain completion records
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in WA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
