Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide surgical technologist services for outpatient and inpatient procedures including orthopedic, neurological, vascular, trauma, and robotic surgeries • Maintain current BLS certification and CST or NBSTSA certification • Work variable shift start times (7am, 9am, 11am, 3pm) with 12-hour shifts • Cover one night shift within contract as needed • Provide on-call coverage one weeknight per week and every 2nd or 3rd weekend (20-minute response time) • Work 3 weekends per schedule as required • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Operate required equipment including microscopes, laparoscopic camera and tower equipment, and arthroscope equipment • Use preferred equipment such as Stealth Navigation Station and daVinci Xi surgical system • Perform scrubbing duties using aseptic technique • Manage case carts and crash carts as needed • Handle trauma cases including gunshot/stab wounds and multiple injury cases • Assist with specialized procedures including craniotomies, spinal fusions, and airway management • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Maintain valid state licensure • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Adhere to fire safety, laser safety, radiation safety, and sharps safety protocols • Follow universal protocol and time-out procedures • Comply with isolation precautions and infection control measures • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
