Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ER to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Medford, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency department nursing care for patients of all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics • Maintain 1:4 patient ratios during day, night, and weekend shifts • Manage patients with trauma, stroke, chest pain, behavioral health conditions, COVID/infectious diseases, and typical emergency department complaints • Perform critical care procedures including IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG administration, and port access • Administer and monitor critical drips, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors • Provide care for ventilated patients and manage CPAP/BiPAP equipment • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and arterial blood gas results • Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and central line care • Conduct patient triage and maintain isolation precautions as needed • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Operate specialized equipment including Alaris pumps, Zoll defibrillators, and Phillips monitors • Float between units as needed to meet staffing requirements • Float to affiliate hospitals nearby as required • Work weekend shifts as needed and block schedules as required • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Complete 12 hours of facility orientation • Maintain required certifications including ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS • Complete non-billable training modules pre-start and annually • Self-report time spent on training modules and maintain completion records • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation • Maintain valid state nursing licensure • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years • Adhere to facility policies and dress code requirements • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
