Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Burbank, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide ICU nursing care with focus on neuro, cardiac, and medical intensive care patients
• Maintain 1:2 patient ratios during days, nights, and weekends
• Demonstrate proficiency in neuro intensive care with skills rated 3-4 on checklist
• Manage patients with complex conditions including CVA/acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, and post-neurosurgery care
• Operate specialized equipment including CRRT (Prismaflex/Prismax), IABP (Cardiosave by Getinge/Maquet), and Impella (Abiomed)
• Perform arterial line management, central line care, and pulmonary artery line monitoring
• Administer blood products, manage ventilated patients, and provide procedural sedation
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as needed
• Utilize Meditech charting system for patient documentation
• Float to other units as needed to meet facility requirements
• Work every other weekend with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
• Commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules averaging 16 hours
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure
• Perform phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance, and wound care with drains/wound vac
• Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac rhythms
• Implement infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
