Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - CVOR to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Monica, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide specialized nursing care in the cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) setting
• Maintain current BCLS and ACLS certifications
• Perform circulating and scrub duties for cardiac surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacements, MAZE procedures, and TAVR
• Assist with atrial septal defect repairs and other cardiac interventions
• Float to main OR or other units when no cardiac cases are scheduled
• Provide coverage for general, orthopedic, spine, and robotic surgical procedures as assigned
• Maintain 1:1 patient ratios during surgical procedures
• Participate in on-call rotation including primary and secondary weekday and weekend calls
• Work block scheduling with up to 2 weekend shifts per month
• Complete 36 hours of unit orientation
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Adhere to Universal Protocol and Time Out procedures
• Manage cell saver equipment and administer blood and blood products
• Maintain laser safety and radiation safety protocols
• Handle specimen collection and proper labeling procedures
• Provide wound management and infection control measures
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, pharmacy, and transportation
• Commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays as required
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Float between sister facilities within the state as needed
• Provide care to adult and geriatric patient populations
• Maintain valid state nursing license
• Provide minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
