Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - CVICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Tarzana, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for Critical Care ICU patients including CVICU and regular ICU patients • Maintain patient ratios of 2:1 during days, nights, and weekends • Manage and care for ventilated patients • Administer blood products and emergency medications • Perform arterial line management and central line care/management • Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure • Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias • Titrate cardiac drips and vasoactive drips • Administer continuous IV sedation and paralytics/neuromuscular blockade • Manage patients with CVA/acute stroke conditions • Perform post-surgical care including post-craniotomy and neurosurgery management • Access and manage ports and PICC lines • Assist with chest tube insertion and removal • Manage surgical wounds with drains and wound vacs • Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG as needed • Perform suctioning (ETT, NT) procedures • Administer procedural sedation and monitoring • Maintain IV insulin protocols • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Float to Telemetry units as needed • Float between facilities within the state as required • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Maintain valid California nursing license • Obtain LA fire card within 30 days • Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services • Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
