Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Rotating at a leading Hospital in Portland, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to neonates and infants in NICU Level 3 or 4 setting
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 during days, nights, and weekends
• Complete charge nurse duties including staffing unit, making patient assignments, and unit oversight
• Run multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate patient care
• Attend high-risk deliveries as needed
• Float between units including maternity and MBU as helping hands when required
• Float to affiliate hospitals and sister facilities based on skill set and unit needs
• Work variable and rotating schedules between days and nights per pay period
• Work every 3rd weekend for both day and night shifts
• Work 3 out of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Provide standby on-call coverage when not needed on unit
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Manage care for premature infants >28 weeks gestation and term infants requiring medical care
• Perform NICU-specific skills including ventilator management, central line care, and feeding support
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience
• Maintain valid state nursing licensure
• Use facility-provided communication devices as required
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Comply with facility policies and procedures
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
