Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Hematology Oncology to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Rehab in Mission Viejo, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide oncology nursing care in outpatient cancer center setting
• Administer chemotherapy including continuous infusion, oral administration, and monitoring
• Manage administration of blood and blood products
• Provide care and management of ports and central line/implanted line care
• Monitor and manage oncology emergencies including acute tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression
• Perform chest tube care and management
• Implement neutropenic precautions
• Assess and manage symptoms including altered mental status, constipation/diarrhea, dysphagia, edema, nausea/vomiting, and neuropathy
• Maintain current BLS and chemotherapy certifications (ONS/ONCC)
• Utilize EPIC charting system for documentation
• Float between facilities within the state as required
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years during compliance process
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
