Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Orange, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for Labor and Delivery patients including high-risk antepartum cases
• Circulate for cesarean sections and assist with vaginal deliveries
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and manage complex pregnancy diagnoses including preterm labor, hypertension, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and fetal anomalies
• Administer and monitor antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Perform cervical cerclage procedures and D&C procedures
• Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns using external fetal monitoring (EFM)
• Care for neonates and adult patients with patient ratios of 1 or 2
• Complete 72 hours of orientation and ongoing training modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Float between facilities within the state as required
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Provide minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Maintain valid California nursing license
• Complete compliance documentation and background requirements
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
