Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to ICU patients with 1:2 patient ratios
• Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications
• Float between like units and affiliate hospitals as required to meet facility needs
• Work minimum every other weekend, with potential for additional weekends based on unit needs
• Complete pre-start and annual training modules and documentation
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Manage patients with arterial lines, central lines, and venous access devices
• Provide care for ventilated patients and assist with BiPAP/CPAP management
• Administer blood products and manage continuous IV sedation
• Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac rhythms
• Care for patients with neurological conditions including CVA and traumatic brain injury
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as ordered
• Manage post-surgical patients including cardiac and neurosurgery cases
• Provide care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and use appropriate PPE
• Complete required compliance documentation and background checks
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays during assignment
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
