Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide intensive care nursing services in ICU Float Pool with 1:2 patient ratios
• Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH stroke scale certifications
• Float between like units and affiliate hospitals as needed to meet facility needs
• Work minimum every other weekend, with potential for additional weekend coverage as needed
• Commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure
• Provide care for ventilated patients and assist with BiPAP/CPAP management
• Administer blood products and manage continuous IV sedation
• Perform arterial line management and interpret arterial blood gases
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and access/manage ports
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as needed
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Provide post-surgical care including management of surgical wounds with drains
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within last 3 years
• Maintain valid California RN license throughout assignment
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures for patient care delivery
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
