Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide surgical technician services for outpatient and community hospital cases including orthopedic, neurological, and vascular procedures • Assist with inpatient and trauma cases as needed • Maintain current BLS certification • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Perform scrub duties for various surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, and ENT procedures • Operate specialized equipment including drills for orthopedic and podiatry cases, cameras and light cords for arthroscopy procedures • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work on-call shifts including one weeknight per week and every 2nd or 3rd weekend with 20-minute response time • Work 3 weekend shifts per schedule as required • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Maintain valid state licensure • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Complete 40 hours of orientation • Provide care for patients across all age groups including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
