Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform surgical technician duties in outpatient and community hospital settings including orthopedic, neurological, and vascular procedures • Assist with inpatient and trauma cases as needed • Maintain current BLS certification throughout assignment • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and patient records • Work either 8-hour or 10-hour shifts with start times at 7:00am or 9:00am • Provide surgical support for various procedures including laparoscopic cases, arthroscopy, general surgery, and specialty procedures • Operate and maintain surgical equipment including drills for orthopedic/podiatry cases and cameras/light cords for arthroscopy • Follow aseptic technique and maintain sterile field during procedures • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Float to main OR and between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Participate in on-call duties one weeknight per week and every 2nd or 3rd weekend with 20-minute response time • Maintain valid California state licensure • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Comply with facility dress code and safety requirements • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties • Adhere to 50-mile radius local policy restrictions • Complete 40 hours of facility orientation
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
