Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Torrance, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for low and high-risk labor and delivery patients including antepartum patients with multiples, hypertensive disorders, diabetic conditions, and multiple system issues
• Care for labor patients with multiple system disorders (HTN, DM, etc.) following AWHONN standards
• Maintain 1:1 patient ratio for active labor patients and no more than 2:1 for early labor patients
• Circulate and recover cesarean sections and perform postpartum D&C procedures
• Set up delivery tables and assist with deliveries
• Perform non-stress tests on patients
• Provide newborn care and support Baby Friendly practices
• Float to Mother/Baby unit and postpartum units as needed
• Float between affiliate hospitals when required
• Maintain current ACLS, AWHONN Advanced (or C-EFM), BLS, and NRP certifications
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Work weekends and commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete 24 hours of orientation and required pre-start modules
• Complete annual training modules and self-report time spent on non-billable training
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Maintain valid state nursing license and comply with background check requirements
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
