Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Fullerton, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in NICU with 1:3 patient ratios
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications (NRP Advanced preferred)
• Care for neonates ranging from 23 weeks to term infants with various disease processes
• Manage all respiratory modalities except ECMO
• Attend high risk deliveries and respond to urgent calls as part of delivery team
• Administer blood and blood products, medications, and IV vasopressors
• Perform arterial line management and ventilator management
• Manage chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and umbilical catheters
• Conduct phlebotomy and start/maintain IVs
• Provide developmental care and patient/family teaching
• Document patient care using Meditech charting system
• Float to mother baby unit as needed
• Work block scheduling with potential weekend coverage exceeding every other weekend
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Maintain valid California RN license
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Comply with facility dress code (royal blue scrubs for RNs)
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
