Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to renal and limb preservation patients including ESRD, ARF, vascular procedures, CHF, diabetics, and diabetic foot ulcer patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac dysrhythmias
• Manage and treat cardiac dysrhythmias appropriately
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5-6 on 12-hour night shifts
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Utilize Pyxis medication dispensing system and SBAR communication method
• Float between units within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including hospitalists, RN navigators, nursing assistants, dietary, PT/OT, and pharmacy
• Administer blood products and manage central line care
• Provide peripheral line care and management
• Implement isolation precautions when required
• Manage nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Participate in rapid response team activities
• Support peritoneal dialysis patients receiving treatments on the unit
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS and NIHSS certifications as preferred
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation including 2 preceptor shifts and EMR education
• Participate in self-scheduling per unit needs
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
