Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Sioux City, IA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting
• Monitor and assess patient vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition continuously
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Operate and monitor specialized ICU equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and IV pumps
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other specialists
• Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide life-saving interventions
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and procedures
• Work every third weekend and every third holiday as part of scheduling requirements
• Complete mandatory training programs and competency assessments
• Maintain current nursing licensure and required certifications
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
